If you'd have told me at the start of this year I would be delivering my Pilates classes on line using live-streaming video and creating a video library I doubt I would have believed you. I've never been a fan of technology, truth be told I'm a bit of a luddite when it comes to tech, especially live streaming video.
Since the beginning of March, some of the steps we have had to take to avoid the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) include keeping our distance from one another (2 metres) and only essential services remaining open. These measures are to help stop the spread of the virus and to ease the pressure our NHS service has been under trying to cope with helping those with infections.
Naturally my Pilates classes fell into the non-essential category, although I'm sure some would argue the opposite, and my classes at the Old Town Hall in Weymouth have been postponed until such time as it is safe to restart them. So I'm taking this opportunity to explore the medium of live streaming video classes via Zoom. So far I have been running two classes per week for just over a month now and they have been very well received and very well subscribed. I've also, started an online video library with Vimeo, I'm currently building that up and publishing. It's all very exciting - well it is if you can't get out much ;-)
These are strange and trying times for many of us, especially with the uncertainty of what the future may look like when we start to resume some normality to life - whatever that normality may eventually be. So for now, stay home, stay safe, look after each other and I believe 'that's a wrap' as they say in the trade.
